| Method 1 uses the least amount of fabric.
If you are using a thin fabric, it is better to use one of
the other methods. This method will make a nice dog or cat
bandanna if you use denim, poplin, or a medium to heavy fabric.
Lightweight or thin fabric tends to crumple up and not be
seen well. |
Using the chart at the top of the page, cut
a square of fabric to the right size for your pet. Don't forget
to add a few inches to allow for a knot.
Embroider the a WACKY PUP design in two
opposite corners. |
Cut the square diagonally into two triangular
dog bandannas. |
Hem the edges using a sewing machine,
serger, or iron on hem tape. Or leave them unhemmed and make
a fringed or rag edge.
Now tie the banadanna on your Wacky Pup! |

 |
| Method 2 is good for medium weight fabric.
The bandanna will be doubled while it's being worn, but not
sewn together, so just about any medium weight fabric can
be used.

| Method 3 is good for medium
weight fabric, and about the only way to
use lightweight fabric for a bandanna
The bandanna will be doubled and sewn together, so just
about any medium or light weight fabric can be used. |

Fold the square with right sides together
and hem the two loose sides. Be sure to leave a hole for turning
it back rightside out.
Turn the dog bandanna right side out - you
can sew again 1/4" from edge, if you want. |
Variation 1: Fold the square with right
sides out. Sew 1/4" - 1/2" from the edge and make
a fringed or rag edge. You don't have to leave a hole because
you don't have to turn it.
Variation 2: Sandwich rick rack, fringe,
or other trim between the two sides as you sew.
Now dress your Wacky Pup in his or her new bandanna! |

| Method 4 is good for just about any
weight fabric. This bandanna will be doubled
and sewn together.
The bandanna can be much smaller than your
dog's neck since it actually tied around them.
|
Cut a square of fabric to the right size
for your pet. A bandanna as small as 6" diameter will
work for most small to medium sized dogs.
Embroider the a WACKY PUP design in one
corner. |
Fold the square with right sides together
and cut off two opposing corners.
Hem the two loose sides, starting about
2" down from the corner. Be sure to leave enough room
to slip the collar through easily.
